Botulinum toxin is used mostly for cosmetic purposes (approx. 90%) in Korea, such as diminishing the appearance of frown lines and square jaws (benign masseteric hypertrophy). In the global market, however, botulin toxin for therapeutic uses account for about 60% of the market.
To be more specific, therapeutic uses account for 53% of the $6.5 billion global botulinum toxin market, as of 2023, and the share of the therapeutic market is expected to grow even further by 2031.
